Guide to Campaign Levels
ActBlue makes it easy for new campaigns and organizations to request an account and begin fundraising in no time.
You will need some information to fill out and submit the sign-up form. We ask that you provide us with your campaign level, and we know that can be easier said than done, so please use the information below to guide you.
Keep in mind that this is not a comprehensive list, and depending on where you’re running, local offices may have different names from the examples below.
If you aren’t sure what level to select after reviewing the guide, reach out to your ActBlue representative or check your Secretary of State’s website.
Federal
Federal office, subject to federal election laws and filing disclosure reports with the Federal Elections Commission
- U.S. House of Representatives
- U.S. Senate
- President of the United States
Statewide
State-level office elected statewide, subject to state election laws and filing disclosure reports with the state’s campaign finance regulatory body
- Attorney General
- Secretary of State
- Governor
State
State-level office elected by district, subject to state election laws and filing disclosure reports with the state’s campaign finance regulatory body
- State House of Representatives
- State Senate
Municipal
Office elected at the city, town, or otherwise municipal level (either municipality-wide or by district), subject to local and/or state election laws
- City Commission
- School Board
- Mayoral
County
Office elected at the county level (either county-wide or by district), subject to county and/or state election laws
