Does ActBlue choose who it supports?

We don’t! That’s because donors use our platform to donate directly to the candidates and causes they support (we’re just the technological infrastructure).

Registered Democrats, Democratic committees, PACs working for Democratic or progressive causes, and progressive 501(c)(4) nonprofits can use our platform. 501(c)(3) charities who share our values — including but not limited to women’s rights, LGBTQIA2S+ rights, racial justice, diversity, freedom of speech, and respect for scientific inquiry, discovery, and data — can use AB Charities, the nonprofit arm of the ActBlue family, to raise money.

We act as a conduit for individual contributions made through our fundraising platform — we process contributions and send them to the recipient chosen by the donor. We do not promote or endorse any candidates, committees, or organizations that use our platform. Each group raises its own contributions and only uses ActBlue to process and receive them. We do not send emails or texts or fundraise on their behalf.
