Yes. At ActBlue, we’re proud to be the fundraising platform of choice for thousands of campaigns and organizations. We’ve accomplished that by making security a top priority.

We have robust security and fraud prevention measures in place, including:

  • ActBlue employs a certified credit card security program to protect donor information, which receives Level 1 ratings. This is the highest level of compliance and payment security standards possible for merchants under the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
  • Contributions are reviewed for indications of fraud. We use the standard fraud prevention tool trusted by many large-scale e-commerce merchants to review each contribution, and manually review donations that are flagged with risk factors.
  • Cardholder addresses are checked using the industry-standard Address Verification Service (AVS) to ensure they match those at issuing banks.
  • Use of Card Verification Values (CVVs).
  • A security team that is constantly evolving our work to stay ahead of political and technical threats and keep our website and donor information safe.
  • All of these measures are in addition to the fraud protections that banks and credit card companies provide on all transactions.
